i considered livestreaming it at one point because no lie it is seriously great and there is at least one gem every time i play but i think it would murder my computer

definition of gem varies of course, sometimes it is something horrifying like finding out a sarcophagus that previously held a mummy is a place sims can do it, or being witness to eridan successfully winning terezi over romantically by using mexican food-themed pickup lines

(the game was so revolted by this pairing it actually crashed shortly after. he got a lot of “date/kiss/marry terezi” wants and dreamt about her the whole night, while she got nothing and dreamt about chicken wings. despite having the flirty trait terezi doesn’t actually flirt that much, but when she does, it’s always with someone terrible. she has bad taste in dudes)

The last time I played Kanaya turned into a fire truck. It’s actually a bad, game-breaking glitch that apparently signifies that the character data is corrupted, but I didn’t save and I think I will restart if/when I go back to Trollhaus anyway (I want to install seasons and maybe Supernatural for BEEKEEPING, and for them to live in poverty again, but I’ll port most of the things I can over to the new save) so corrupted data in this instance doesn’t matter that much.

Everyone likes to steal Aradia’s truck. I gave everyone their own personal bike for them to use so that they would stop doing it, but they all still prefer vehicle theft. Someone has usually pocketed it when she has to go to work, so it’s usually Aradia who ends up biking. I think it’s because her truck is purple with dinosaur print. Who would not want to be seen driving around in this.

Anyway Kanaya went on a joyride with a few people and got stuck in the middle of the fucking thing. Everyone else got out as usual, but she didn’t. At first I thought she’d just parked it really badly, but she was actually attached to it.

I noticed this when she got up from her chair and went over to talk to Sollux (who is ordering a girly drink from this outdoor bar while he is supposed to be working?? That is his stupid tweed jacket he wears instead of proper ghostbuster uniform) and she RAN HIM OVER INSTEAD

I ACTUALLY HAVE FOOTAGE OF HER RUNNING PEOPLE OVER BUT IT IS BAD QUALITY BECAUSE I USED THE SIMS MOVIE THING AND IT DIDN’T SAVE THE HILARIOUS VROOM NOISES THE TRUCK MADE WHENEVER IT MOVED

I tried to make her do a lot of things that I hoped would get her out of the truck but it did not work. That includes talking to people, going in elevators, going in houses, pocketing the truck and deleting it, woohooing (I’m sorry). Usually she could get away from it for a few seconds, but it would teleport to her again. The truck model FLIPPED THE FUCK OUT when she did the horizontal tango, it was the scariest thing, I immediately regretted it. And then when I pocketed + deleted the truck, the truck did not disappear. Instead she became the truck, her model standing motionless in the parking space, and the truck became her. I could click on the truck and make it wash dishes. I think if I wanted to I could have probably made someone sit on Kanaya’s head and drive really fast, but by that time I’d read that this glitch meant the file was totally, irreparably fucked and I was freaking out.

I still don’t know why the glitch victim is always Kanaya.

Nepeta is an artist and her lifetime wish is to be best friends with three cats. This is a wish she (like Tavros) will never achieve because the Pets expansion is buggier than a Victoriian prostitute. Strays go home as soon as somebody comes to greet them and there’s no way of calling them back to the house so it’s impossible to make friends with or adopt them. Only one person in town has a cat and it can’t be interacted with because it has been stuck inside the wall of an apartment building for a very long time.

Eridan keeps wanting her to paint him portraits of himself and I’ve stopped indulging him after like the second time. He is not even friends with her. I think he has also asked her to make an Eridan sculpture even though she has pretty much no sculpting skill (he’s also badgered Kanaya for it, who wastes her skills on dumb shit like making sculptures of kitchen chairs, and is also the reason why Nepeta is so bad at it because she hogs the sculpting thingy whenever she gets the chance).

Nepeta’s best friend is Feferi. At the beginning they got along so well I thought they would probably end up as a couple but that didn’t end up happening and I’m kind of confused as to why (they are both still single though btw). They are also alcoholics? The first time I made everybody go to France they both made a beeline for the vineyard and spent 3 days there intermittently guzzling wine and puking. I don’t think they even went back to the hotel, they just slept on the floor of the wine cellar. Now that there is a wine maker thingy at home they sometimes have bad wine binge parties there too. I think Feferi is probably a bad influence. Aside from that though their friendship is pretty cute, Nepeta sometimes goes with Feferi on fishing trips to cheer her on and Feferi sometimes gives her goldfish and sharks (???? why) that she catches as presents. Nepeta wants to paint pictures of her sometimes and iirc she’s tried to do it autonomously once or twice. They gossip about people all the time, especially Karkat re: the awful novels I make him write.

She’s also friends with Aradia, Terezi and Karkat. I’m not sure about Equius, but I know they aren’t like bffs which is kind of disappointing. (Equius doesn’t interact with a lot of people except for Terezi and Aradia, he is a loner who is too busy pumping iron and cooking most of the time to have friends.) BEING FRIENDS WITH HER IS HARD WORK THOUGH BECAUSE she constantly wants to train people she likes on the treadmill. For Aradia and Equius this is ok because they needed athletic skill anyway for their job. I think Terezi and Karkat are a bit thinner and buffer than they used to be. She once made Feferi run for so long though that she got really thin and it was weird as fuck so I kind of want her to stop doing that for people. I understand that she is concerned about everyone’s physical well being but since there are no consequences for being fat and lazy for sims I think that concern is unwarranted.

I think Nepeta also hates birds because she cheers when they kick the bucket. Everyone else gathers around to cry for the latest parrot to die of neglect and she stands at the front doing fistpumps.

no because neither of them understands how to make friends so they would have a maximum of 2 guests (terezi, who is friends with everybody, and karkat, who is friends with sollux because sollux gave him a potato once i still laugh whenever i remember that). 2 guests at a wedding is just sad. i will wait until they blunder into at least two more friendships. i am not sure that will ever happen.

they both want to though. it doesn’t matter if i uncheck the want or not, if it goes away it’ll always come back the next time they interact even if it’s a stupid subject like nachos or something. ingame i have been playing for many many simyears and they still do the awkward flirting thing that they did on day 1 and they watch the stars all the time and kiss each other goodnight. they also do this thing where he tries to jump into her arms and she fails to catch him and i guess they think that is a fun thing to do because they get positive relationship points from that idfk. i think that it is actually literally impossible for them to be in a bad mood when they are in the same room. i think that if they were both on fire while in the same room, they might be slightly uncomfortable. (as long as one of them didn’t die from being on fire.) some of the things they do are WEIRD AS HELL but man it’s actually really sweet. they did it all by themselves. im so proud

yeah i guess so. i’m guessing it’s either the result of me using too many cheats to fool around with npcs, or WORLD ADVENTURES. it is a neat expansion pack and the temple exploring part is really fun but man is it ever glitchy.

anyway i don’t know what the fuck went wrong and it was kind of funny to start with because the social system went haywire. and it started with kanaya because every glitch happens to kanaya. i made fat kanaya her sister (and renamed fat kanaya “fat kanaya” to tell them apart) so that no weird stuff could go on between them. because i didn’t end up deleting that clone. clones turned out to be kind of funny especially when they are clones of tavros. so anyway fat kanaya decided to visit real kanaya and everybody just went nuts. like. to start with i think fat kanaya started talking to somebody about cameras and terezi ran into the room screaming bloody murder about karkat or aradia (i can’t remember who) cheating on a love interest they didn’t have?? and then they started crying and shit and suddenly everyone in the house was getting accused of cheating?? and everyone was really mad and depressed?? and it didn’t stop. i restarted a few times and like, deleted all the doors so fat kanaya couldn’t come into the house because i’d assumed she was the disease vector BUT IT HAPPENED ANYWAY. MULTIPLE TIMES. WITH EVERYONE. like i could take kanaya and make her kiss sollux and they would, because they’re a faithful pair attached at the hip, and then sollux would run away to weep and everyone else in the room would be witness to “a betrayal” and hate kanaya because SHE CHEATED ON SOLLUX WITH… SOLLUX. then people accusing her of betrayal would also be accused of betraying somebody else they aren’t even in a relationship with. and the entire house going insane wasn’t funny once i realised that i couldn’t prevent it from happening and continue on with my game. i don’t know how this happened???? why this happened???? was it the clone thing i bet it was the fucking clone thing wasn’t it. god. or maybe a mod except i don’t remember installing any mods that fuck with relationships.

anyway i’m not going to lose much i don’t think. just some $$$ from dungeon-crawling in egypt and a slightly more sensibly built house. i met the npc tavros clone i renamed rufio (because despite looking exactly like tavros with the same traits and no job, he is inexplicably banging like 4 or 5 people at the same time, and they are all super in love with him, including fat kanaya) after the reset point, but i think rufio probably existed before the egypt trip or else he could not have possibly gotten that much booty. similarly i think every single non-troll npc in bridgeport was a vampire before the reset point. so the things i really care about are still safe. i’m just hoping they don’t go nuts in the backup too.

i’m not going to touch the npcs anymore i don’t think.

WELLLL I’ve kind of stopped playing it since, like, June or July. For a few reasons.

- I finally encountered a real bad game-breaking glitch, and it wasn’t even a funny one like the time the Bridgeport bridge disappeared and all the cars (and Aradia’s fire truck) got stuck on it and drove in place while no other traffic could cross until I restarted the game. That glitch was great. This one isn’t, and the problem with it is that I guess I must have triggered it and then saved the game, because it starts happening EVERY TIME I load. So I’ll have to rewind to a backup save—thank god I have one—and then rebuild the house to how it was in the doomed save file.

- The second reason why I haven’t played IS the house. It is so badly constructed that I feel angry when I look at it, and all the sims feel angry when they are in it too so at least I’m not alone. I don’t know why I began it as a giant box and then tried to extend it so that it took up pretty much the whole yard. That was a bad idea. I also don’t know why I realised it was a bad idea but then kept building on it anyway, until it turned into this monstrosity. I don’t know why I made a bunch of useless corridors and stuff nobody uses. I don’t know why they all decide to use the stairway I built in the far corner of the house that goes from a library to a bedroom instead of the fucking elevators in the middle of the house. I don’t know why I had an attic space for the dudes without bedrooms but then deleted it, so Eridan is back to sleeping outside (I do know why it’s Eridan in particular though). It’s horrible.

- Vriska blew up Equius’ giant unicorn statue that was gifted to him for being a cool dude, and I miss it.

- Every time the dog does an idle animation, it leaves an invisible impassable object that no mod can automatically detect and destroy. I do have a mod that makes them show up as little dots which makes it easier to delete them, but I still have to do it myself, and the dots have like a 50% chance of actually showing up. So instead of having to constantly babysit the dog and make sure she’s doing something to avoid, I just delete her. She comes back every time I load the game so I have to delete her over and over and over again and I just feel bad about it. She’s also glitchy enough that I can’t give her away for adoption either. UM this might have actually been the #1 reason I quit playing because my actual dog that I’d grown up with died in mid-July and I was really absurdly sensitive about the subject of dogs for a while there. Deleting the family dog was KIND OF NOT A THING I wanted to do or think about even in the context of a dumb glitchy video game I populated with Homestuck aliens lmao.

THAT BEING SAID. I really shouldn’t play Sims 3 for a while. I have school and it’s a huge massive time sink and I have more productive things I should be doing (i.e. drawing, drawing comic, doing homework) instead of fucking around with trollhaus. BUT. BUT. A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS TOLD THE SUPERNATURAL EXPANSION HAD BEEKEEPING. I was not going to get that because I don’t give a fuck about fairies and the whole thing seemed stupid but BEES means I’m obligated to pirate the fuck out of this and waste undue amounts of time playing it. You just don’t understand how much I love virtual beekeeping, ok. You can’t. Also there’s apparently a Seasons one coming out? Weather was super fun in Sims 2 so I’m excited for that and will almost definitely relapse there even if I manage to keep myself away from bees (which I… I won’t, somewhere deep down I’ve already given up).

if u want to hear stories though i still have a lot of them i haven’t posted. like have i talked about gay gravedigger tavros?? or the other clones?? i don’t think so. give me a character i will tell you what i remember from last time i played. except for gamzee, gamzee is still pretty much the same as last time i reported on him. except that he is a pastry chef now, he has moved up a bit, and he wandered into some bar party once and now inexplicably has like 30 npc friends. i don’t know what went on there. he still acts like he desperately wants someone to take him out back the shed. that is his story

I think I have 1.33, so yeah, they’re definitely out of date. I know for a fact that you will have to redownload awesomemod, because it expired for me too (I don’t know why they did this?).

However I also heard that after 1.31 maxis would stop fucking with the base game code or something and so a lot of mods made after that should work with any version after 1.31. Core mods will probably have to be updated but the slider hacks and stuff should be fine in 1.36+.
