As in their first iteration? To be honest, I don’t really like the A1 guys at all, so I haven’t given much thought to what they’d be like with their ancestors swapped up. Since Feferi isn’t the Witch of Life and nobody can communicate with Glb’golyb or the Furthest Ring, the dream bubbles don’t exist, and so neither do the A1 players after they scratched their session. They’re just… not very relevant… and it’s hard to talk about them when there are so much unknowns about who they were before their deaths and what kind of a world they lived in, and I’d have to build a completely new one more or less from a blank slate if I were to say anything about them re: bloodbent.

Meenah would be in a different situation at least because she wouldn’t be in the imperial bloodline anymore? Her ancestor wasn’t really hot on hereditary rule or politics, and provided he didn’t get assassinated or something (WHICH IS TOTALLY POSSIBLE I MEAN I DON’T THINK HE’S THAT GREAT AT STAYING ALIVE), I think he would have at least tried to dissolve it and replace it with an electoral system. If that didn’t succeed and there’s some other random usurper guy/descendant of an usurper in power, Meenah might have ended up hiding out in the same deep sea cave that Sollux holed up in to get away from her later on. Whatever happened I’m sure he left her a few rambling tomes which she only ever read the last pages of, and she probably thinks he sucks and she could have done a lot better if he hadn’t deliberately ruined her chances. Which is pretty much true to be honest. This would also probably affect everybody else too, it would be a vastly different social climate than Feferi’s Beforus.

I recall a dream I had where I wrote about Alternia v.1 court politics for some reason. They unanimously (after temporarily kicking out Karkat so that the decision would be unanimous, it was just the principle of the thing) agreed that religious leaders ought to be decided by gladatorial combat. Then they chose this totally atheist blacksmith guy obsessed with horses to go fight on behalf of the Empire, and he would go on to win every competition until his death of old age. Equius Zahhak was thus the longest-reigning pope in history, and he did absolutely fuckall with this position except erect a bunch of lewd golden musclebeast statues and art museums. I feel like this would be a good time to formally canonize that. So Meulin probably has some expectations to live up to there.

I have drawn some things of them as ancestors, and also Meenah and Aranea once (secret: I totally drew that picture with the Captor and Peixes horns first and then changed them ngl so it counts). But I probably won’t go down further down that road, sorry. Not even for A2 players tho I think their government would be hilarious

did i intend for this to look nice?? no. absolutely not. is this representative of the things i have done in the past year?? probably sadly yes

yeah! i have thought about having down feathers as “grass” and flight feathers as pine trees, since a) i think the feather barbules, as shown under microscope, really do look a lot like flat pine needle branches and b) iit’s a pun on pinion/pinyon. in addition, pinions are also small gears, which i think i should work in somehow. in any case it is definitely a flat, open kind of land because his consorts are migratory (like equius himself is/was) and it’s one of the more benign worlds in the set. i feel like i know what it should be like but can’t visualise it very well for some reason? maybe i am just upset about a steppe world because i live in the prairies where everything is just flat grassland and bush, so it doesn’t feel alien enough to me.

it goes from highest blood colour to lowest. sorry sometimes i forget it’s not second nature to everyone to figure out who is where on the spectrum

tav got dealt a myriad of abysmally bad hands in this. he’s got a really lame-sounding non-combat role in the only land that is openly, unambiguously hostile to him in particular. and he has eridan around to be contrary and unhelpful about the ghost problem, because ghosts don’t exist, stupid. eridan doesn’t like being in his own land. i guess it’s too cheery for him.

well here is four thumbnail things of them (two you might have already seen). i was going to do all of them but the architectural ones are hard and several have two really distinct unsolved/solved phases so i would have to do at least 16 sketches which i just don’t feel like doing at the moment.

i’ll also post the info part later as a readmore text post since you guys also wanted that. i’d say also look at formspring but there isn’t much about equius there and whatever i said about karkat is really outdated and wrong and i have changed it a lot for the better so ignore whatever is there (but u can still ask stuff on formspring)

one thing i will not answer is about equius’ lusus though, that is a secret between me and only one other very special person
